The Chemical Injection Nipple (CIN) enables chemical injection in demanding downhole applications that exceed the limits of conventional products in terms of pressure, temperature, and tensile load. Its one-piece, eccentrically machined body provides full protection for enclosed single or dual check valves, with the option to include a rupture disc.
Available in tubing sizes from 2-7/8" to 9-5/8" and pressure ratings up to 10,000 psi, the system incorporates dual corrosion-resistant check valves rated to 400°F (204°C) for reliable, redundant performance. For wells with high H₂S or CO₂ content, nipples can be manufactured from 4140 alloy steel, stainless steel, or nickel alloys, all conforming to NACE MR0175 standards for sulfide stress cracking resistance.
The eccentric design simplifies maintenance, allowing easy replacement of check valves and rupture discs after the nipple is pulled from service. For added flexibility, the CIN can also be configured with an internal landing nipple profile and seal bore system to accommodate an isolation sleeve, shutting off communication between the annulus and tubing ID when required.
